Rebecca Reed Clark has had a love of horses for as long as she can remember. She finally convinced her parents to let her take riding lessons at age 11. She began riding saddleseat and developed a love of the show ring almost immediately. Becky competed locally and nationally first with Arabians, and then with Morgans. She competed two times at the Morgan World Championships in Oklahoma City. After many dedicated years to the saddleseat discipline at age 21 she decided to take her horse out of the show barn and have her closer to home. During this time, Becky competed with the University of Maine Equestrian Team and began to focus on centered riding. She was fascinated by the new discipline and the awareness that it brought to her connection with her horse. Becky then began eventing first locally and then at larger national events. It was in this time that she fell in love with dressage. For the past many years, Becky has been focusing on dressage and is a USDF Bronze medalist. She loves the precision and passion needed to excel. The challenge of dressage is very exciting to her and she loves the incredible bond it can bring out between horse and rider. Becky is very excited to learn and improve, and loves to pass that on to others. When teaching, Becky uses her vast background and focuses on a strong foundation of basics for the beginner rider. She believes that good basics both under saddle and on the ground, will take you far no matter what discipline you ride. She focuses on creating a strong connection between horse and rider and, of course, having lots of fun! Becky has always dreamed of having a full time career with horses and is very excited to be able to work in an environment that she is so passionate about. She has been able to work with instructors such as Gunnar Ostergaard, Jane Savoie, Pam Goodrich, Sigfried Winkler, Dr. Cesar Parra, Shelley Francis, and Phillip Dutton. She looks forward to working with Puckerbrush and their clients in the coming years! You will see her training and competing her own horses locally and nationally in the upcoming season! She is so happy to be a part of the Puckerbrush team! |
